It is also used for opinions. When you &#8220;think about something&#8221; you are considering it for a longer time &#8211; like a few minutes or more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Every time I hear this song, I <strong>think of<\/strong> my mother.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>(thinking for a few seconds)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">What do you <strong>think of<\/strong> my new haircut?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>(opinion)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I&#8217;m <strong>thinking about<\/strong> moving to a different city.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>(considering)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I still get angry when I <strong>think about<\/strong> all the rude things my sister said to me.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>(thinking for a few minutes or more)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Common error: Don&#8217;t use &#8220;think to&#8221; for &#8220;considering.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">I&#8217;m <strong>thinking to do<\/strong> an intensive English course in Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m <strong>thinking about doing<\/strong> an intensive English course in Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Think over \/ Think through<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Use the prepositions &#8220;over&#8221; and &#8220;through&#8221; when you need to consider a topic carefully or think about it for a longer time (hours, days, or weeks).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m not sure which course I want to take. Let me <strong>think it over<\/strong> for a while.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ll need some time to <strong>think through<\/strong> your proposal.
